Knew Year’s Zygote

It is a new decade and I am supposed to have a new outlook on life; a more positive spin, if you will. A magic eraser comes by and wipes away the last ten years of bullshit, just as it has in previous years. So here it goes:

Fuck that noise. Am I transmitting; is this thing on? Good. I just wanted to make sure that I was coming through since we rolled over from a 9 to a 10. I didn’t want some bullshit Year 2000 bug to eat up all of my sarcasm. Seriously, that shit was real man; didn’t you have to live in a bunker for like 3 months back at the end of 1999 into 2000? Oh wait, nothing happened and all of those people a still trying to finish up their over abundance of MRE’s.

What are years anyhow and why do they matter? Years are but made up numbers and it is all a bit fuzzy to me on how they actually work, yet somehow they hold it all together. Here is what I DO know:

1.) We have an entire generation that thinks George Lucas’ claim to fame is ruining the two previous generations childhoods.

2.) We also have almost two generations who think all of the education and knowledge they need, can now be found on the internet, and that books and real history are a thing of the past. I would go as far as saying that they are archaic but they might have to look up the definition online.

3.) We have not changed. We are still self-absorbed douche bags who think we know more than the next guy. I mean seriously, I have been in discussions that turned into arguments (one sided) while trying to explain to the other person that we were talking and agreeing about the same thing, merely using different words. He wasn’t buying that one at all. So at least we still have our idiocy. I mean it has gotten us this far right?

(Get it, far right?)

In closing, this isn’t really a closing at all since it seems to be one long and drawn out monologue, 2010 is bullshit. Now, I know that this has a negative ring to it and that is not what I am trying to do. I am only stating that I do not abide by your norms and mores. I do not need the structure that you have built to protect myself from my self. I need it only to protect myself and my family from you and yours. We will continue to evolve in one way or another and we will also keep on killing each other, for it’s what we do. As long as you stay the fuck off of my lawn, we’re good.

PS ~ it’s called satire. If you don’t like it, you can suck it, unless you are going to start forking over the dough for the upkeep. Thought not.

    An old year rolls over becoming some thing new all the while staying the same. Time is much like society: there can be a change or merely the maintaining of an established status quo. Growth and/or stagnation depends on the willingness of its people, and when it comes to people: some do, some don’t, some will, some wont.
    No matter the year; didn’t some Pope take it upon himself to tinker with that at some point in our thus far oh-so-glorious history? And we all know The Church is never wrong.
    ::snicker::
    Sarcasm.
    ::giggles, snort, honk::
    When it comes to the “growth” of the masses, I say ~ let them gluttonously devour the banal, for I much prefer the feast that can be this life’s tree of knowledge.

      That would be Pope Gregory XIII and it wasn’t really even done to be more accurate with the seasons at all. It was actually done to regularise the date of Easter, which falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox.

      Which only translates to: Easter can fall anytime between March 22nd and April 25th.

      Unless you were referring to someone else.

      Either way, it has nothing to do with anything at all really.
      :P
